Winter Workday - April 27th

The crews worked away at the roundhouse in Como, while an away team visited Nebraska for material recovery.

Paul Marizza, Tina Bogani, Mike Sharp, Bob Peterson & Jim Scoville hard at work at the rod reaming station.

Bob Peterson & Paul Marizza reaming tapered holes in connecting rods in front of the watchful eye of Kate. Finished product of tapered bolts inserted in right side rod assembly.  Simply beautiful.

Dan Silbaugh and Larry Plume going over recently acquired Bridgeport Knee Mill. Joey Knous, Larry Plume & Tina Bogani move the mill to its final position on the outside wall of Stall 1. Tim Clay installed temporary lighting for our Stall 1 Machine Shop.

With high volunteer season coming up, we decided to deal with the ice build up in the turntable pit. After Tim Clay shoveled a layer of ice, he and Jim Scoville use motion and momentum to break free of the ice jam.

Also pitching in in Como but not pictured were David Winner and Chip Sherman.

Meanwhile… Alex Hois, Carsten Prigge & Tom Lawson drove to Nebraska to recover railroad materials being offered.

Alex determining what rail to be recovered, picking frog out/recovering joint bars, loading frog, loaded two frogs, derailers, guard rails and joint bars, load of car grab irons and brass valves/fittings.

So much accomplished and its not even May yet!!
