Open House - July 19th
WOW! Not sure what sparked everyone to get out but oh-my-gosh was it a busy workday & open house! We had lots of visitors; it felt almost like Railroad Day! Thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers. As always, our guests were very impressed by the work being done and multiple groups mentioned they plan on coming back for Railroad Day.
Helping out with the busyness but not pictured were: Mark Arbucci, Tina Bogati, Bob Peterson & Catherine Woodham. Steve Schweighofer & Bob Schoppe staffed the Depot as always. Sam Kunugi, Luke Miller & Mattie Garnhart spent time running the Speeder.
So often behind the camera, Tom Lawson set up the sign along 285 (photo courtesy of Mike Bottlemy).
Major focus #1 of the day was continues prep of Stall #6 for the Plymouth. Alex Hois & Siegfried Barthel working on the base. Newly laid timber is behind Alex’s right foot. Dale Shallenberge & Steve Burt ready to work.
Major focus #2 of the day was continued expansion of the Stall #1 Machine shop. Paul Marizza & Tim Clay (coming through the swinging door) stroll the machine shop. New office wall in background. Mike Antolin & Paul Marizza show off new “hockey board” wall to keep bystanders back, while Dan Silbaugh supervises milling operations.
Caden Adams cuts on the Mud Ring while Jim Scoville assists.
Athith Chammatira, Rob and Jacoby Van Winkle & Norm Acker put some finishing touches on 8311.
Jon Dierksheide & Mike Bottlemy with some open house visitors. Jon & Mike also kept the Handcar moving and we had record donations for a non-Railroad Day!
Speaking of records for a non-railroad day, Lauren Revis-Hebert beams after counting up a record day for an open house at the merchandise booth!
